We burst from the womb
                  Magnificent
We soar into existence
The essence of pure joy
Crystallising into The Warrior
With a tenacity
Built on will and grit.
We captivate and energise
Ourselves and those around us
To resonate the Universal Song
Of being whole, complete and at Peace

Written today, by me, whilst attending 'Empowering Poetry: Stand in your Power' workshop, led by Yasmin Autwal.

Phillip was a middle class snail
Who simply couldn't email
The Shoreditch invertebrates
All threw scorn
On his inability
To access slimy porn
Here am I
Just me
Waiting alone
Waiting
To be lost in your kiss
I wonder who you will be?
Dandelion dreams,
Clocked up by the dozen,
Never set seed,
In life's tapestry, unwoven.

Buffeted by winds,
Of change and missed chance,
Settled into dusty corners,
No time left to dance.
The post-rain chill of,
Droplets on my face,
Gossamer breeze,
Petrichor and blackbird song,
Fill my soul,
Washing all worries away.

Battle, Axed....

I am the daily warrior,
Forged through life's fire,
Hammered solid by pain upon pain,
Will galvanised by a diamond hard soul.

My flesh belies the soldier deep beneath,
My sword cuts a swathe through,
The battle of every minute and hour,
To the point of a weary rest, at last.

I survive each moment, each day
A victory for the cause
Of living my life
In spite of everything and everyone.

Does the sky match my mood?
Or does my mood match the sky?
To each, we are both mirrors,
Forever asking why.
